  3. CSO.ie publishes theft offences on the rise in Ireland: here is what you need to know about securing your business
February 24, 2020 Business Safety, Crime Prevention

According to the Central Statistics Office, there have been 69,063 theft-related offenses recorded in Ireland during the 3rd quarter of 2019. This shows a 3.7% increase in theft crime since 2018.

Theft and vandalism is an ongoing security concern for business owners in the country. Looking at the theft rate spiking makes business owners worried about whether or not they have necessary measures in place to protect their business and property.

How can you protect your business property?

Well-protected premises with good security procedures will deter the intruder from attempting to enter or damaging the premises.

One of the best ways to protect your property from being attacked is by employing a professional security company to provide mobile patrols and Alarm Response Service. In the event that your alarm system sounds, a Mobile Patrol officer in your local area is dispatched to attend your facility. The responding officer investigates the area and enacts an appropriate response. If there is an issue found they contact the proper authorities and alert you to any security issues.

Why shouldn’t you assign a staff member to attend alarms after-hours?

Exposing untrained staff to a threatening situation can be deemed negligent by the employer. Let’s take a scenario where a staff member is on the way to attend an intruder alarm activation in the early hours on a Sunday morning. On route, he is involved in a collision. The outcome being; no one responds to the alarm activation in time resulting in your premises being compromised. More importantly, what duty of care have you shown your employees? You cannot put a price on the Health & Safety of your staff.

With Top Security Mobile-Guarding in place, you can rest easy knowing that our patrol officers are ready and able to respond to any sort of security breach, threat or concern.

If you require any further information on how to proceed with your security plans in 2020, do not hesitate to contact us.
