INDUSTRIAL MONITORING 'Sensors and detectors designed for commercial and industrial applications to protect materials and work in progress, and to safeguard the environment.' In the business world, security may refer to much more than personal protection and intrusion prevention. Top Security can help you expand your service offerings with monitoring capabilities for a vast array of environmental and industrial conditions. In its most simplified form, environmental monitoring consists of an operator alert system linked to a switch. A signaling device is interfaced with an environmental sensor or measuring device and linked to the central station via digital communications. With the proper interconnections and telecommunications devices, it is as easy as monitoring the opening and closing of a door. Theft and burglary represent the largest security threats to commercial enterprises such as retailers. However for a food processor or pharmaceutical manufacturer, a failed refrigeration unit could be a far greater concern. Our monitoring technology can be applied to a vast number of nontraditional monitoring applications which eliminates the risk of a critical systems failure going unnoticed. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Environmental monitoring is, by definition, a function of the particular circumstances of a machine, facility; process or location. However, some of the more common environmental monitoring applications are listed below to give an overview of possible services which we could provide for you: TEMPERATURE MONITORING Temperature monitoring is an area of major concern for many companies. A freezer compressor that fails during a weekend could result in severe losses due to spoilage and lost productivity in a food or beverage company. A heating system that fails in the middle of a winter night could result in equally disastrous conditions for a business in the horticultural industry. A warning signal is sent in to the Monitoring Station any time the temperature in a particular environment rises or falls beyond selected limits. A key holder is informed of the situation or, depending on the alarm system, our controllers could respond using our remote switching capability. FLUID/ FLOOD MONITORING Low level warnings linked to water reservoirs, fuel supplies, process chemicals or other liquids. These fluid levels are monitored to prevent overflows and floods preventing possible spillage or damage. As above, on receipt of a signal our controllers inform a nominated key holder. GAS DETECTION MONITORING Specialised detectors are available to monitor many gasses in addition to the familiar O2 and CO2 detectors. These sensors can also monitor gas pressure in piping, machinery and other systems. Warning signals are sent to the Monitoring Station where the appropriate response is generated. UPS/ GENERATOR MONITORING Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) and generators can be monitored to ensure someone is notified by our controllers if back up power systems fail.
