GARDA POLICY
A new Garda policy was introduced on April 1st 2005. It affects the handling of activations from your intruder alarm system as the Gardai will now only respond to 'verified' alarms. What is a verified alarm? The Gardai will not accept a call from a Monitoring Centre until a Keyholder has been notified and given an estimated time of arrival at the premises. The purpose of the new policy is to reduce false alarms thereby enabling the Gardai to respond to real activations more promptly. What is a false alarm? All Commercial systems must have verification technology installed prior to January 1st 2007. After this date, Residential systems will have Garda response withdrawn after one false and will only be reinstated when verification technology is installed. If you would like us to arrange for your alarm company to review your system and determine whether an upgrade is necessary please call 1800 93 11 33. A complete version of the Garda policy is available by clicking on the link below.
