People, whether they be Top Security staff, customers, customerís staff or third parties require the greatest focus when trying to implement successful security practises.

That is why at Top we have developed practises in the areas of training, communication and supervision which are at the heart of our success.

CLIENT LIASON

At Top Security, keeping the client well informed is seen as a vital part of the service.  A high level of management time is devoted directly to customerís needs, making sure that problems are not being dealt with at a distance.

During the course of each shift, security officers, mobile patrol officers and supervisors are all required to maintain an activity log.  These are examined on a daily basis and clients are immediately informed of any irregularities which may have occurred during the previous 24-hour period.  Summary reports are furnished on an agreed basis with the clients.

This helps the management of client firms to deal with day to day problems swiftly and on the basis of up-to-date information in order that undesirable trends do not manifest themselves.

Customer service and on-going assessment are hallmarks of  the Top Security approach.

 

PERSONNEL AND TRAINING

Prior to commencing employment with Top Security, applicants must undergo an intensive screening process.

Each successful applicantís employment record and personal history is verified for a minimum of 10 years previously or to school leaving age.

Once an applicant has been successful, a period of induction and in-house training commences.

Top Security holds regular in-house training courses.  Subjects included are patrolling , access control, CCTV operation, first aid, evacuation procedures and fire prevention.

This is followed by on-site training where an experienced officer will accompany  a trainee officer on his/her duties, completing a number of shifts with them.

This gives the trainee officer valuable field experience and also allows them to become familiar with the duties for that particular location.  It is company policy to always have more than the required number of security officers trained for any given location.

Specialist training on an on-going basis is provided for supervisors, controllers and managers to assist in the development and control of their departments.

 

SUPERVISION

A team of supervisors are on duty 24-hours a day and make a number of random checks on each location during the course of their shifts.  They are also available to provide any necessary back-up should it be required.

Other forms of supervision include hourly check calls to our central control station (by radio or landline) plus the use of a clocking system.
